European Summary: Unsettled in the west - Rain for Spain, Mar 11 - 06:03

Heavy snow in the far east Today Dry across much of England today. Much of France also is looking fair and dry with some sunshine. Outbreaks of rain will spread up into Spain today but dry in the north west and dry as well across into the Balearics. Fair and dry across Belgium and Holland with showers forecast across Denmark, the northern half of Germany and all of Poland. Fair and dry across southern Germany into Hungary, Switzerland and Austria. Lots of sunshine to come across Italy, the former Yugoslavia, Greece, Bulgaria, Romania and the Ukraine today. Western Turkey will also be sunny but snow showers will affect the east. Heavy snow showers to come for western Norway, dry and sunny in the east and across into Sweden while heavy snow is forecast for Finland and Russia along with the Baltic States.

Saturday High pressure maintains across much of eastern Europe today but rather cold. Mostly sunny and dry across Belgium, Holland, Denmark, Germany, Poland, The Baltic States, Belarus and Hungry with some morning fog patches. Fine as well across Italy, the former Yugoslavia, Bulgaria, Greece, Romania and the Ukraine. A few snow showers to come across Turkey today. Mainly dry across Norway and Sweden today while more snow is expected across Finland and Russia. An area of heavy rain across Spain moves across the Balearics with heavy showers for Portugal. Rain is expected for western France but dry in the east.
