Tonight

Toledo vs. No. 4 Boise State

Kickoff: 8 p.m. at the Glass Bowl, Toledo.

TV: ESPN

Notable: A second straight road game for Boise State (1-0), with a bye week in between. Opening 35-21 win over Georgia was impressive, as Heisman Trophy candidate quarterback Kellen Moore was an efficient 28-of-34 for 261 yards and three TDs. His longest completion against the Bulldogs was 20 yards. Last season, Moore led Boise to a 57-14 win over Toledo. Toledo (1-1) expects to have a full house (26,248 capacity) and with good weather could creep toward the 31,981 fans the Rockets jammed into the Glass Bowl in 2004 for a game against Bowling Green. The QB tandem of Austin Dantin (29 of 47 for 316 yards 4 TDs, 0 INTs) and Terrance Owens (17 of 29 for 259 yards, 3 TDs, 1 INT) has served the Rockets well. With injuries mounting among Toledo linebackers, RB Adonis Thomas (23 carries for 162 yards, 2 TDs) will need to be at his best to keep the clock running and the ball out of Moore's hands. Boise State sacked Georgia QBs six times, with lineman Shea McClellin getting 21/2. Toledo WR Eric Page has three TD catches and is averaging 17.0 yards on punt returns and 31.5 yards on kickoff returns Toledo beat New Hampshire, 58-22, and lost to Ohio State, 27-22.

Saturday

No. 17 Ohio State at Miami (Fla.)

Kickoff: 7:30 p.m. at Sun Life Stadium, Miami Gardens, Fla.

TV/radio: ESPN; WKNR AM/850.

Notable: OSU (2-0) is 2-1 all-time against Miami and 14-7 all-time against teams from the ACC, including a win over the Hurricanes last season at Ohio Stadium. Ohio State leads the Big Ten and ranks fourth nationally in rush defense, giving up just 40.5 yards per game. RB Carlos Hyde ranks sixth in rushing in the Big Ten, averaging 84.5 yards per game. Miami (0-1) lost its opener at Maryland on Sept. 5, 32-24. Sophomore QB Stephen Morris filled in for senior Jacory Harris, who will return Saturday after serving a one-game NCAA suspension for his part in the extra-benefits scandal. Harris threw for 1,793 yards and 14 TDs in 2010. New 'Canes coach Al Golden is trying to keep his team on an even keel despite all the NCAA issues swirling around the program.

Next for OSU: Sept. 24 vs. Colorado, 3:30 p.m.

-- From staff reports

Akron at Cincinnati

Kickoff: 3:30 p.m. at Nippert Stadium, Cincinnati

Radio: WARF AM/1350.

Notable: Scoring (three points in two games) is a major challenge for the Zips (0-2), who play a third straight quality opponent in Cincinnati (1-1). Akron appears to have a potential big-play receiver in Marquelo Suel (five receptions, 110 yards), but he has to get his hands on the ball more often. Bearcats quarterback Zach Collaros has been solid, passing for 364 yards and six TDs.

Next for Akron: Sept. 24 vs. VMI.

Kent State at Kansas State

Kickoff: 7 p.m. at Bill Snyder Stadium, Manhattan, Kan.

Radio: WNIR FM/100.1.

Notable: Kent (0-2) looks to a revamped offensive line and a streamlined game plan to jump-start an offense that has scored a total of 19 points in two games. Kansas State (1-0) is in much the same offensive position as the Golden Flashes, after narrowly winning its opener, 10-7, over Eastern Kentucky. Wildcats QB Collin Klein passed for 128 yards with a touchdown and an interception against EKU.

Next for KSU: Sept. 24 vs. South Alabama.

Bowling Green vs. Wyoming

Kickoff: Noon at Doyt-Perry Stadium, Bowling Green, Ohio.

Notable: BG (2-0), with wins over Idaho and Morgan State, looks to extend its surprisingly fast start. Wyoming (2-0) has defeated Weber State and Texas State by a combined score of 80-42. BG tailback Anthon Samuel (262 yards rushing, two TDs) continues to balance the QB play of Matt Schilz, who last week passed for 258 yards and five TDs against Morgan State.

Next for BG: Sept. 24 at Miami (Ohio).

Miami (Ohio) at Minnesota

Kickoff: 3:30 p.m. at TCF Bank Stadium, Minneapolis.

TV: Big Ten Network.

Notable: The RedHawks (0-1) play winless Minnesota (0-2), which could see the return of head coach Jerry Kill, who last week suffered a sideline seizure. The Golden Gophers have a weapon in dual-threat QB MarQueis Grey, who leads the team in rushing (157 yards) and passing (305 yards, two TD). RedHawks will feature QB Zac Dysert, who passed for 194 yards (but no TDs) in season-opening loss at Missouri.

Next for Miami: Sept. 24 vs. Bowling Green.

Ohio vs. Marshall

Kickoff: 7 p.m. at Peden Stadium, Athens, Ohio.

Notable: OU (2-0) has gotten solid play from first-year QB Tyler Tettleton (30 of 52 for 292 yards and four TDs) in opening two victories. Marshall (1-1) is a distinct step up in class. The Thundering Herd has struggled a bit with freshman QB Rakeem Cato (two TDs, two INTs), but has a solid defensive lineman in Vinny Curry (three sacks).

Next for OU: Sept. 17 at Rutgers.

Division II

Lake Erie vs. Saginaw Valley

Kickoff: 7 p.m. at Jack Britt Memorial Stadium, Painesville.

Radio: WFUN AM/970.

Notable: LEC is 1-1 heading into this Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference match-up, the second of six home games for the Storm. The Storm will try to get its offense back on track after managing just 261 yards in a 41-10 loss last week at Michigan Tech, the league's top-ranked defense. Saginaw Valley opened last week with a 30-27 win over Ferris State.

Next for LEC: Sept. 24 vs. Hillsdale.

Notre Dame College at Marian (Ind.)

Kickoff: 1 p.m. at St. Vincent Health Field, Indianapolis.

Radio: KNR2 AM/1540.

Notable: Two Notre Dame quarterbacks -- Dak Britt and Rob Partridge -- each tallied 161 total yards as the Falcons shocked the Walsh Cavaliers, 20-17, in overtime last week. For NDC, the game marked their second overtime game in as many weeks -- the Falcons lost to Mercyhurst (Pa.), 24-23, on Sept. 3. Things don't get any easier as NDC travels to Indianapolis to take on a Marian Knights team ranked No. 4 in the NAIA. Marian (3-0) outscored foes, 118-14, and the Knights feature a balanced attack on offense and a top-notch defense that is allowing just 200 total yards per game. On offense, Notre Dame will look to running back Pedro Powell (1,114 career rushing yards in 13 games) and wide receiver Jack Foy (program-record nine catches last week) to control the clock with a solid ground game and possession passing. Saturday's game is NDC's third straight on the road -- the Falcons' home opener is Sept. 24.

Next for NDC: Sept. 24 vs. Siena Heights (Mich.).
