Scranton/Wilkes Barre, Pa., had a six-run second inning and held on for an International League victory over host Columbus. The Yankees reached RHP Corey Kluber (3-4) for a run in the first inning and knocked him out in the second after allowing seven runs on seven hits. The Clippers scored five times in the fifth as 3B Lonnie Chisenhall and RF Jared Goedert each drove in two runs.

3B Kyle Bellows drilled a three-run, opposite-field homer in the fifth inning, leading the Aeros to an Eastern League victory at Trenton (N.J.). RHP Brett Brach (1-1) allowed five hits and one run in five innings, did not walk a batter and struck out five.

Lake County beat Lansing, Mich., in the 11th inning when pinch runner Zach MacPhee scored on Jordan Smith’s grounder with the bases loaded at Classic Park. Lugnuts first baseman K.C. Hobson’s throw home was low, allowing MacPhee to score.
