Will Roberts pitches seven shutout innings in Lake County Captains victory: Minor League Report

In Class AAA, Beau Mills' two-run home run in the eighth leads the Columbus Clippers to a win over visiting Pawtucket, R.I.

AAA Columbus Clippers

Clippers 6, Red Sox 4 DH Beau Mills' (.303) two-run homer in the eighth inning gave Columbus a come-from-behind win at home Saturday against Pawtucket in International League play. Trailing, 4-3, entering the eighth, 3B Lonnie Chisenhall (.326) got things started with a single. 1B Matt LaPorta (.389) followed with a single and LF Russ Canzler (.266) drove in Chisenhall with a sacrifice fly.

RF Ryan Spilborghs (.259) drove in three runs, bringing home LaPorta with a sacrifice fly in the second and scoring LaPorta and Canzler in the sixth with a single.

Jose De La Torre (1-0, 3.60 ERA) got the win and Jeremy Accardo (1.50) got his third save.

AA Akron Aeros

Aeros vs. Curve, ppd. rain The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader today, beginning at 1:05 p.m.

Notes: Aeros left-hander Eric Berger (0-3, 6.92) will face lefty Kris Johnson in the first game in Eastern League action at Akron's Canal Park. Aeros left-hander T.J. McFarland (3-1, 2.11) will pitch game two against right-hander Mike Colla (0-3, 4.26).

Advanced A Carolina Mudcats

Red Sox 3, Mudcats 2 Ryan Pressly (1-0, 8.87) pitched six strong innings, striking out six, and Jackie Bradley hit a two-run double to lead host Salem (Va.) to the Carolina League win. Carolina picked up two runs in the sixth on an RBI-groundout by CF Giovanny Urshela (.270) and a wild pitch that scored CF Tyler Holt (.361). Mudcats starter Mike Rayl (2-3, 3.25) pitched six innings, giving up six hits and three earned runs.

A Lake County Captains

Captains 6, Bees 0 Will Roberts (2-1, 2.90) pitched seven shutout innings, allowing just four hits and striking out three, as Lake County beat Burlington at Classic Park in Eastlake in Midwest League action. C Alex Lavisky (.257) of Lakewood led off the second with a single to center field. He scored on 2B Robel Garcia's (.225) double to right field. In the third, the Captains batted around and scored four times. DH Alex Monsalve (.224) drove in two runs with a single. 3B Leonardo Castillo's (.152) double off the left-field wall scored Lavisky, who had walked. Cole Cook (6.14) finished up the win for the Captains, pitching two innings.
