Sunday night’s International League game at Columbus with Toledo was rained out. The teams will make it up as part of a Fourth of July doubleheader, starting at 5:35 p.m. . . . Matt LaPorta leads the Clippers with 16 home runs. He’s hitting .305, with 30 walks, and has an on-base percentage of .401. LHP Chris Seddon (7-5, 3.61 ERA) and RHP Corey Kluber (7-7, 3.84) lead Columbus in wins. RHP Chris Ray (2-4, 2.38) has 11 saves.
AA Akron Aeros

Advanced A Carolina Mudcats

Host Carolina turned five Potomac errors into five runs and won a Carolina League game. Cole Cook pitched the last two innings for his first save since joining Carolina from Lake County after the All-Star break. Francisco Jimenez (7-5) held Potomac to one run over six innings. He scattered three hits, walked three and fanned three.
A Lake County Captains
Whitecaps 4, Captains 0
Lake County lost a six-inning Midwest League game at Classic Park in Eastlake to Fort Wayne, Ind. The game ended early because of rain. LHP Shawn Morimando (2-2) pitched six innings for the Captains and yielded five hits, four runs (three earned), three walks and one home run.
A Mahoning Valley Scrappers
Scrappers 9, Crosscutters 1
Mahoning Valley pounded out 13 hits for a win in the New-York Penn League at Williamsport, Pa. Third baseman Joseph Wendle had a double, three hits and four RBI for the Scrappers.
Independent Lake Erie Crushers
Freedom 6-1, Crushers 5-5
Lake Erie split a Frontier League doubleheader in Florence, Ky. Both games were scheduled for seven innings, but it took nine innings to complete the first game, and eight to wrap up the second. Florence won the opener with a bases-loaded single with a drawn-in infield.
