Roberto Perez's three hits help Akron roll past New Britain: Minor League Report

Clippers punchless vs. Buffalo, Carolina boosted by Wolters' three RBI, Lake County stymied by Dayton, Lake Erie wins pitchers' duel.

AA Akron Aeros

Aeros 6, Rock Cats 4: C Roberto Perez (.231) had three hits, including two doubles, and four RBI to lead Akron to the Eastern League win over visiting New Britain.

Aeros right-handed reliever Jose De La Torre (3-0, 2.49) earned the win with 2 scoreless innings. He allowed no hits, walked one and fanned five.

AAA Columbus Clippers

Bisons 5, Clippers 1: Columbus RF Chad Huffman (.271) homered in the ninth for the Clippers' only run in the International League loss Wednesday to visiting Buffalo. Huffman has five homers this season.

Lefty Eric Berger (1-3, 5.28) started for the Clippers and allowed two runs on six hits in six innings. He struck out eight.

Advanced A Carolina Mudcats

Mudcats 5, Blue Rocks 2 2B Tony Wolters (.231) had three hits and three RBI, RF Carlos Moncrief (.249) hit his seventh homer of the season and Carolina won the Carolina League game in Wilmington, Del.

Mudcats right-handed starter Will Roberts (3-2, 5.15) allowed two runs on six hits. He did not walk a batter and struck out five.

A Lake County Captains

Dragons 5, Captains 2: Lake County managed just five hits and was blanked for the final eight innings in losing the Midwest League game in Dayton, Ohio.

Cody Anderson (4-3, 2.91) started for Lake County and pitched five innings. The right-hander allowed four runs on seven hits and two walks.

Independent Lake Erie Crushers

Crushers 1, Otters 0: Josh Rickards and Mickey Jannins combined on a three-hit shutout as Lake Erie won the Frontier League game in Evansville, Ind.

Rogelio Noris hit a two-out RBI double for the Crushers.
