American Ambassador Louis Susman and Israeli envoy Daniel Taub were among 200 guests at the annual interfaith celebration at the Liberal Jewish Synagogue, St John's Wood, which was held during Chanucah.
Others present included Westminster North MP Karen Buck, Westminster City Council members and representatives from the Muslim, Christian, Sikh and Hindu communities.
LJS senior rabbi, Alexandra Wright, said that in lighting the Chanucah candles, "let us dedicate ourselves, not to the materialism, cynicism and godlessness of our age, but to hope and to our faith in a God who cares deeply".
