UK Forecast: Heavy Rain - Gales in the South, May 08 - 16:39

Wednesday For Northern Ireland and northern Scotland. Expect sunny spells and occasional showers. The far north of England should be dry today with some sunshine. Most of England and Wales will be cloudy and wet with spells of heavy rain. This looks particularly heavy the Midlands down through southwest of England and towards the channel coast where the winds will be gusting to Gale force. Expect top temperatures today of 10 to 15 Celsius.

Wednesday Night This evening, heavy rain expected across northeast England, the east Midlands and southeast England. With light rain for rest of England, Wales and southern Scotland. It will be dry tonight across northern Scotland but another batch of heavy rain sweeps up from the south into much of the United Kingdom with gales in the south. Very mild tonight in the south with minimum temperatures tonight of 5 to 13 Celsius north to south.

Thursday Northern parts of Scotland will have some showers today. The rest of the United Kingdom is going to remain cloudy, windy and wet with further outbreaks of rain to come, again this will be locally heavy. Overall across England and Wales. It's remains cloudy and windy with some patchy bits of rain though it will become drier across Wales and southwest England. Colder across Scotland tonight with showers, these maybe wintry over high ground. Expect top temperatures today of 8 to 16 Celsius.

Friday A colder day today with a brisk north west wind blowing across the country. Most places will have a mixture of cloud, sunnier spells and scattered showers. The afternoon, it should be mainly dry across Wales and southwest England. The showers die away by evening, leading to a dry night with well broken cloud and lighter winds, we could see a touch of frost. High temperatures today of 10 to 12 Celsius.
