AA Akron Aeros
Aeros 7, SeaWolves 1: C Chun Chen hit his 10th home run, DH Matt McBride had an RBI single and RF Ben Copeland rapped an RBI double as Akron won the Eastern League game in Erie, Pa. Austin Adams (6-8, 3.95) pitched six innings for the Aeros, who had 12 hits.
Notes: LH T.J. McFarland (7-4, 4.08) is 5-0 with a 2.25 ERA in his past six starts. In 40 innings, he has fanned 28, walked 10 and given up 28 hits.
AAA Columbus Clippers
IronPigs 4, Clippers 3: SS Luis Valbuena's fielding error allowed Lehigh Valley to score the winning run in the 10th inning of the International League game in Allentown, Pa. RF Chad Huffman's homer and LF Jerad Head's two-run single accounted for the Clippers' runs. Carlton Smith (2-3) took the loss.
Notes: Going into Saturday, RH reliever Josh Judy (4-2, 2.72, 14 saves) was 2-1 with seven saves and had not allowed an earned run in his past 14 games.
Advanced A Kinston Indians
Indians 11, Blue Rocks 8: DH Tyler Cannon and 2B Jeremie Tice drove in runs with singles, and two runs scored when an error was committed on LF Anthony Gallas' groundball as Kinston scored six runs in the eighth inning with two outs to come from behind and defeat Wilmington (Del.) in the Carolina League game in Kinston, N.C. Toru Murato (3.68) got his second save for the Indians.
Notes: Going into Saturday, OF Anthony Gallas (.200), from Strongsville High School and Kent State, was 9-for-24 (.375) with three doubles and five RBI in his past seven games.
A Lake County Captains
Kernels 6, Captains 0: Cedar Rapids (Iowa) batted around in the fourth inning, plating six runs, and Brian Diemer went all five innings in a rain-shortened victory over Lake County in a Midwest League game at Classic Park. Jordan Casas got the Captains' only hit in the fourth inning.
A Mahoning Valley Scrappers
Scrappers 7, Renegades 4: 3B Jordan Smith and 2B Todd Hankins each stroked two-run doubles as Mahoning Valley scored four in the seventh to seal the New York-Penn League win over Hudson Valley in Wappingers Falls, N.Y. Joseph Colon (3-2, 3.55) pitched six innings for the victory.
Independent Lake Erie Crushers
Jammers 7, Crushers 4: Lake Erie sent eight batters to the plate in the fourth inning and scored four runs on five hits, including Andrew Davis' two-run double, but host Joliet (Ill.) stormed back to win the Frontier League game
