AAA Columbus Clippers
Yankees 6, Clippers 5 Nick Johnson (.194) hit a pinch-hit homer, and 3B Jason Donald (.336) had three hits, but host Columbus lost to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, Pa., in International League play. Clippers RH Justin Germano (0-2, 4.58 ERA) allowed five runs and 12 hits in six innings.
AA Akron Aeros
Aeros 8, SeaWolves 4 1B Beau Mills (.300), C Chun Chen (.283) and RF Ben Copeland (.317) each hit a two-run homer as Akron won in Erie, Pa. Aeros LH T.J. McFarland (7-4, 4.08) allowed two runs on seven hits in eight innings. He struck out seven. Five players had two hits for Akron: Chen, Copeland, SS Juan Diaz (.257), LF John Drennen (.236) and DH Paul Padron (.317).
Advanced A Kinston Indians
Kinston did not play Thursday.
A Lake County Captains
Captains 16, River Bandits 15 C Alex Monsalve (.290) singled in RF Carlos Moncrief (.239) to cap off a three-run ninth, and host Lake County walked off with a wild win over Quad Cities at Classic Park. Moncrief homered twice, singled, walked three times, drove in four runs and scored five times. 1B Jesus Aguilar (.290) had four of the Captains' 19 hits, including a homer, and four RBI. Monsalve had four hits and two RBI. In the ninth, LF Brian Heere (.247) scored on a wild pitch, and 2B Nick Bartolone (.215) scored on a sacrifice fly by CF Jordan Casas (.281) before Monsalve's walk-off hit.
A Mahoning Valley Scrappers
Scrappers 17, Spikes 4 C Jake Lowery (.274) drove in six runs and had three of Mahoning Valley's 20 hits as the Scrappers cruised in State College, Pa. Mahoning Valley DH Jordan Smith (.363) had three hits and three RBI, and LH Jerrud Sabourin (.184) also had three hits. Scrappers RH Rob Nixon (2-3, 4.50) gave up two runs on eight hits in six innings.
