Tony Rosenberg believes his Manchester Maccabi 1st side could learn a trick or two from Roberto Mancini after they suffered a shock defeat to ten-man Hartshead FC.
Manchester City fan Rosenberg says the way Mancini?s men tore 10-man Manchester United apart during last weekend's 6-1 thrashing was the perfect lesson in how to make the man advantage count.
Maccabi led 1-0 at the break thanks to Ashley Loofe?s effort and seemed destined to take all three points after Hartshead were reduced to ten men just before the break.
But they failed to make the most of their numerical supremacy and Rosenberg says his players only have themselves to blame.
?We didn?t have the discipline which City showed when United went down to ten men,? he said.
?Unfortunately, neither myself nor Stuart are quite as good as tactically astute as Mancini but we should have won the game.
?I know we?re not professionals but we should have seen the game out because we?re playing some great football but not killing teams off.
?We should have been four or five up at half-time. You look at the way City used the extra man and tore United apart and that?s what we should have done.
?So many times we?ve been told how we play the best football in the division but you don?t get points for playing good football, you get points for winning games.?
The 2-1 defeat was a bitter pill to swallow for Rosenberg and he has warned his side they must improve if they are to challenge in Division Two of the Tameside League.
?There?s no doubt we play some of the best football in the league but we have to take our chances,? he added.
?Against Hartshead, their keeper had a wonderful game and made four or five stunning saves.
?But we?re missing too many chances. When we do get it right then somebody is going to be on the end of a big thumping.?
Meanwhile, Manchester Maccabi 2nd were beaten 5-0 in their Manchester Accountants League Division One match by Trinity.
