Risk of frosts Overall we expect high pressure to dominate much of the United Kingdom for the upcoming week keeping it settled and mainly dry. Temperatures will also be near or above normal for most parts of the country. The weekend though sees low pressure and a front bringing rain into most areas and it will be colder temporarily. Frosts are likely to develop and become most prevalent in the south. For the weather for the next few days click here Sunday 18/03/12 Rather breezy and feeling colder across the country today with an area of rain across northern England down into the Midlands this morning. This turns light and more showery as we go through the afternoon across central and southern parts of England. Mainly dry with sunny spells across Scotland with a few showers across Northern Ireland and the far north of Scotland. A dry, clear and cold night with a wide frost expected across Britain. Expect high temperatures today of 6 to 10C.
Monday 19/03/12 Mostly cloudy across Northern Ireland, but dry and rather cloudy across Scotland with some patchy rain in the north. For England and Wales it looks like it's going to be a fine, dry, and mostly sunny day. Tonight that rain turns heavy across northern parts of Scotland and with clear skies in the south, expect a frost. Highs of 8 to 11C.
Tuesday 20/03/12 A weather front will continue to bring rain to northern parts of Scotland and keep Northern Ireland cloudy. High pressure will continue to give England and Wales a dry day with sunny spells after early fog patches disperse. Not too much change during the course of the night with a touch of frost in the south. Expect highs of 9 to 13C.
Wednesday 21/03/12 With little change in the weather pattern, most of the country will be fair and dry with sunny spells, though perhaps it will be cloudier across central and eastern parts of England today. Across northern Scotland it remains cloudy and damp. Highs of 10 to 13C.
Thursday 22/03/12 Today that area of high pressure to the east of Britain will give all parts of the country a dry day. Eastern parts of England and Scotland may be more susceptible to cloud, perhaps with the best of the sunshine in the west. It looks to become quite windy in the far south. Maximum temperatures of 10 to 14C. Friday 23/03/12 We do not expect much of the change in the forecast for today with all parts of the country dry and the best of the sunshine in the west. Highs of 11 to 14C.
