Morning Call: Rain at first - Brighter later, Jun 06 - 06:03

Rain at first in the southeast, but then becoming brighter for most Good morning. A cooler start to the morning for many. An area of rain affects East Anglia and southeast England this morning, some of this heavy, and slowly clearing into the North Sea. There will be cloud through the Midlands and northern England, although the threat of some showers on eastern coasts.

Scotland and western Ireland will have plenty of cloud and there will be rain across northern Scotland, with a few showers in western Ireland. More eastern parts of Ireland should be brighter and there will be some sunshine through wales and northwest England. I'm hopeful that this afternoon will become brighter for much of the country. There will be bright or sunny spells developing, although it may be mid-afternoon before rain clears eastern coasts of East Anglia.

Have a great day. Simon me at simon.keeling@weatheronline.co.uk
