Wednesday A cold start to the morning across all parts of the country. There will be showers, most opf them around northern and western Scotland, northwest England and the north and west of Wales. During the day the showers will be transferring eastwards, through the Midlands and into eastern England as more western areas become drier. The showers may well falling as sleet or snwo voer the Pennines and hills of Scotland. Strong winds in northern and eastern areas, but easing to the west. Highs at 7C in northern Scotland, 12C in the far southwest of England.
Wednesday Night Further showers over Northern ireland and western Scotland, and the eastern coasts of Scotland through the night. An odd shower may affect coasts of Wales too, although these tending to fade through the night. A ridge of high pressure builds from the west and this is going to be bringing drier weather with clearer skies. The winds easing too and a frost forming inland with lows of 0C.
Thursday A cold start to Thursday morning as a ridge of high pressure builds from the west. This is going to be bringing plenty of sunshine to most of the country at first. A warm front will be moving eastwards into Ireland and western Scotland through the day and this will be bringing cloud and outbreaks of rain with it in the afternoon. Winds increasing through Ireland and Scotland. Highs at 8C in western Scotland, 12C in suthern England.
Friday A cloudier day in a moist southwest flow as a warm front passes eastwards through the country. There will be some drizzle affecting western parts of Wales, western England and southern Ireland. More persistent rain over northern and western Scotland as well as Northern Ireland and turning windier here too with a front close by. Brighter skies and much milder weather over eastern and central parts of England. Highs at 12C in northern Scotland, 15C in any sunny spells over eastern England.
