European Summary: Windy in the north - Settled for much of mainland Europe, Nov 25 - 06:00

Fine and sunny across Spain Today Gales will affect northern Britain with severe gales across Scandinavia into the Baltic Region but dry today across England. Some light rain is expected across the far north of France, Belgium, Holland and Denmark with rain across southern Sweden into Norway where it will be heavy. Cold with snow across eastern Russia with sub zero temperatures all day. Cloudy with rain across the Baltic States. Dry and sunnier into Belarus, the Ukraine. Dry and cold across Romania into the former Yugoslavia with rain into Greece and southern Italy. Continued dry and sunny across Turkey and Bulgaria. Heavy showers persist across the Balearics today but dry and sunny across Spain and Portugal today. Sunny across the Alps into Switzerland and Austria today. Lots of sunshine across Poland today.

Saturday Rain is expected across northern Britain but a dry day to come across England today. With a cell of high pressure over France, it will dominate much of mainland Europe. Much of Europe will also be settled and dry. Expect sunny spells from France across the Low Countries into Germany, Poland into Russia but temperatures become colder heading east with below freezing high temperatures into Russia. Rain is expected across Finland today with snow showers for Norway and sunny skies across into Sweden. Dry and cold across the Ukraine into Hungry, Austria and Switzerland. Fine and sunny across the former Yugoslavia with rain across Greece and Bulgaria while heavy showers persist across the south of Italy. Dry across Turkey and northern Italy. A fine day to come for the Balearics and dry, sunny as well come across Spain and Portugal.
