Morning Call: A windy start - Gales in south, Oct 16 - 06:04

gales this morning in the south, getting better this afternoon Good morning, A windy morning across England and Wales as low pressure crosses northern England. Gusts of winds of up to 50mph are possible this morning across the south of the UK. very fitting for the 25th anniversary of the Great Storm of 1987! The good news is that the winds should be easing by the late part of this morning and into this afternoon.

Rain across northern England will be making it feel particularly cold here, and this rain could extend to north Wales. This should be fading to the east through the day with drier weather then following from the west.

Elsewhere the day is probably going to be a drier one with some sunny spells. There is the risk of a few showers, especially over northern Scotland. For most though the day is going to be staying dry with more spells of sunshine.

Have a great day. Simon me at simon.keeling@weatheronline.co.uk
