AAA Columbus Clippers
Clippers 2, Bats 0 Columbus DH Jared Goedert (.284) hit a two-run homer in the ninth and starting pitcher Eric Berger (4.95) and three relievers combined on a three-hitter to lead the Clippers to an International League win Tuesday in Louisville, Ky.
Berger, a left-hander, allowed three hits and two walks in 5 1/3 innings. He struck out six. Righty Frank Herrmann (4.91) threw 1 innings, righty Dan Wheeler (3-3, 2.50) pitched the eighth and lefty Scott Barnes (4.06) pitched the ninth to earn his second save.
Goedert has 14 home runs this season.
AA Akron Aeros
Aeros 3, Curve 1 Akron righty Brett Brach (4-7, 3.90) threw seven scoreless innings and RF Jordan Henry (.269) had two hits and two RBI as the Aeros won the Eastern League game in Altoona, Pa.
Brach struck out four while allowing two hits and three walks.
Advanced A Carolina Mudcats
Nationals 4, Mudcats 1 2B Ronny Rodriguez (.267) hit his 19th homer of the season to account for the Mudcats' run in the Carolina League game in Zebulon, N.C.
A Lake County Captains
Loons 6, Captains 5 St. Ed grad Alex Lavisky (.239) had two hits, including his 11th homer of the season, two walks and three RBI but Lake County lost the Midwest League game in Midland, Mich.
A Mahoning Valley Scrappers
Muckdogs 6-1, Scrappers 2-0 Mahoning Valley righty Luis DeJesus (4-2, 1.93) allowed one run in seven innings in the second game of a New York-Penn League doubleheader in Niles, Ohio. He gave up four hits and one walk while striking out five.
