A lovely start to the week with the northwest firing after the competition in Bundoran and some serious shots of Tom Butler surfing Mully to be seen on SurfRepublic, Swellseekers and of course, youtube!
The week turned a bit in the middle, with crappy winds making things uncomfortable for most of the country.
The weekend looks like there will be a drop in swell but and this is great, the winds look quite good, nice and offshore on the west of the country.
So it may be time to break out the longboards and get into it!
Weather Outlook:
Today (Saturday) will be bright with good sunny spells and light winds.
Apart from isolated light showers in the north, the day will be dry.
After a cold, misty, start, top afternoon temperatures will range 12 to 14 C. Tonightnight will be dry and cold with some frost and fog.
Lowest temperatures will range between minus 2 and 5 degrees, coldest over Ulster, and mildest over Southwest Munster where cloud and wind will increase towards morning.
Tomorrow will see rain and freshening Southeast winds spread in over Munster, South Connacht and, later in the day, South Leinster.
The rest of the country should have a dry day with some bright or sunny spells. Highest temperatures on Sunday will range 11 to 14 degrees.
North:
Today: 2 foot with 7 second period and light onshores for most of the day
Tomorrow: 1 foot with 11 second period and practically no wind!
Northwest:
Today: 3 foot in Bundoran with 10 second period and moderate cross-shores. Sligo much the same!
Tomorrow: 2 foot with 8 second period and no wind so should be glassy for a gentle longboard session
West:
Today: 1-2 foot with a 7 second period and a cross-shore breeze
Tomorrow: 2 foot with an 11 second period and lovely offshore breezes!
South and Southwest:
Today: Lovely gentle conditions in Inch with 2 foot and a 12 second period and practically no winds all day! Cork looks nice as well with similar conditions in the West and offshore breezes!
Tomorrow: 2 foot of southwesterly swell with a 10 second period and gentle offshores all day! West Cork should be lovely as well, with slightly less size but offshore winds as well so should be worth a look
Southeast:
Today: 1-2 foot of southerly swell with 7 second period and light to moderate cross-shores
Tomorrow: Similar size to Saturday with 10 second period and lightish onshores for most of the day
