Gales at Times Overall low pressure is expected to dominate the weather across much of the United Kingdom as weather fronts bring outbreaks of persistent rain to be followed by sunny spells and scattered showers. Rain will affect the north of Scotland with south westerly gales. Rain sweeps in across all but Scotland tonight. Expect highs of 10 to 13C.
Wednesday 17/10/12 We may see an area of heavy rain lingering across central, southern parts of England for much of the day with rain across northern Scotland as well. Rest of the country will see some scattered showers sunny intervals. That heavy rain in the south moves up across northern England and Scotland tonight with a risk of gales across southeast England in the evening. Expect maximum temperatures of 11 to 14C.
Thursday 18/10/12 A wet morning Wales and southwest England. This area of heavy rain sweeps up across all of England and to the far south of Scotland in the afternoon. While it clears most of England tonight heavy rain is likely across Scotland and Northern Ireland. It looks very windy across eastern England this evening. Expect high temperatures of 9 to 14C.
Friday 19/10/12 Heavy rain clears northern Scotland this afternoon. Apart from a few showers in the south west, most of England and Wales will be fair and dry although some rain could threaten coast of East Anglia and southeast England in the afternoon. Saturday 20/10/12 Fair is a risk of some rain across Scotland with sunshine and showers for England and Wales, though few are expected across eastern England. Rather windy across England and Wales. Sunday 21/10/12 Confidence is low in the forecast at this point, but models indicate that area of moderate to heavy rain spreads up across England and Wales through the day.
