Aeros 4, Curve 3: Indians left-handed reliever Rafael Perez started and threw a scoreless inning in a rehab assignment, SS Juan Diaz (.256) hit his eighth homer of the season and Akron won the Eastern League game over visiting Altoona (Pa.)
AAA Columbus Clippers
Indians 12, Clippers 9: Columbus DH Vinny Rottino (.309) homered and drove in four runs and Russ Canzler (.263) hit his 13th homer of the season, but host Indianapolis shelled Clippers pitching for 15 hits en route to the International League win on Saturday. Rottino has six homers this season.
Lefty David Huff (4.98) started for Columbus and allowed six runs on eight hits in five innings.
Advanced A Carolina Mudcats
Mudcats 3, Keys 1: Lefty Matt Packer (1-0, 0.00) threw five shutout innings, CF Carlos Moncrief (.243) hit his 11th homer of the season and Carolina won the Carolina League game in Frederick, Md.
Packer, a 32nd-round pick of the Tribe in 2009, has made two starts for Carolina and has not allowed a run in eight innings. He's allowed three hits, walked one and struck out seven.
A Lake County Captains
Captains 5, Captains 2: Right-hander Joseph Colon (8-8, 2.90) allowed one run over seven innings, and Lake County RF Jordan Smith (.314) had three hits and two RBI as the Captains beat Beloit (Wis.) in Eastlake.
A Mahoning Valley Scrappers
Renegades 6, Scrappers 3: Mahoning Valley RF Marcus Bradley (.292) had three hits and scored twice in the Scrappers' New York-Penn League loss in Wappingers Falls, N.Y.
