Welsh singer at busy folk night

On Saturday, Glastonbury Assembly Rooms' Fabulous Furry Folk team will host an evening of acoustic music from various visiting musicians.

The evening will feature a headline set and various appearances from Gaea Knight, a talented singer and songwriter from the Welsh borders.

Sets will also come from up-tempo guitar and accordian tunes band The Smerkin Merkins and short sets from London songwriter and wordsmith Spacegirl and singer-songwriter Nancy Ackroyd, who is about to record her debut CD in Glastonbury.

Though the acts are not very well known in Somerset, Gaea will be familiar to visitors to Glastonbury Festival's Green Fields, where she organises the Mandala Stage with the crew of volunteers and eco-activists who are known as Tribal Voices. She and her guests on this special evening can be heard at late night sessions at various festivals over the summer.

Expect an evening of beautifully crafted, heartfelt songs, harmony singing and passionate lyrics, with some light-hearted moments from Spacegirl and the Merkins.

Admission will be 5, with the doors opening at 8pm for an 8.30pm start.
