European Summary: Unsettled north - Fair to the south, Apr 23 - 06:05

Plenty of sunshine to the south, but unsettled in the north Monday A band of cloud and rain sinks south through Spain and Portugal through today. Heavier rain affects northern and western parts of France, with the south and east becoming mainly dry. The Low Countries will be breezy with sunny spells, whilst Germany and Poland will both have sunshine and dry conditions. Some heavy showers through Austria and Hungary as well as Switzerland. Sunny spells and dry across eastern and southern Spain as well as in the Balearics. A few showers over Italy, but mostly dry here. Greece will be fine with plenty of sunshine, and it should stay hot and sunny across Turkey too. Sunny spells and scattered showers in Denmark, with heavy longer spells of rain in western Norway. Sweden will have some sunny spells and slow moving showers, Heavy showers for the Baltic States and Finland too.

Tuesday A fine day through Spain and Portugal with lots of sunshine to come here. Heavy showers will be blowing through France, with more persistent rain for the Low Countries and Germany. Poland also looks set to have some rain, this extending into Switzerland and Hungary as well as Austria. For Italy there will be cloud and some rain in the north, but more central and southern areas should be drier with sunny spells. Heavy showers affecting parts of Greece, whilst Turkey is fine with lots of sunshine to come here. Heavy showers affecting Finland and the Baltic States through the day, with rain moving into Denmark. Sweden and Norway should be largely clear with sunny spells, although showers affect the west coasts of Norway.
