Conditions looks set to be rather cool through the first part of the coming week, with periods of rain across more northern areas. Later in the forecast temperatures rise briefly before falling again as low pressure moves in bringing showers for all. For the weather for the next few days click here Friday 6/4/12 High pressure is to the west of Ireland through Friday, as an area of low pressure slips south into Norway. The effect of this is to bring a series of fronts south through the UK and Ireland and a second plunge of colder air. Cloud and outbreaks of rain associated with the fronts, mainly affecting Scotland and eastern parts of England. Tending to stay drier in the far south of England and Wales. Highs at 6C in northern Scotland, 12C in southern England. Saturday 7/4/12 A front brushes through northern areas through Saturday bringing some rain to Scotland, and showers to eastern parts of England. Further west and south there will be broken cloud, with the best of any sunshine along southern coasts. It will be another cold day. Highs at 8 to 11C.
Sunday 8/4/12 A warm front passing eastwards through Scotland heralds the arrival of milder air. This brings some low cloud and drizzle to the north and west of Scotland, with the threat of low cloud affecting many western coasts too. Drier through central and more easter and southern England with broken cloud. Highs at 9 to 14C. Monday 9/4/12 A series of front trailing through Ireland, southern Scotland and northern England. There will be cloud and outbreaks of rain, some of this heavy in these areas. More southern parts of England will be drier and brighter with sunny spells, but then some heavy showers following to northern Scotland. Highs at a mild 18C in southern England, 11C in northern Scotland. Tuesday 10/4/12 Fronts again affecting Scotland through Tuesday, with the jet stream close by. This brings cloud and outbreaks of rain, some of them heavy in the north and west. There could be some outbreaks of rain to the south too, although most parts of southern and eastern England stay dry. Highs at 17C in southern England, 9C in northern Scotland. Wednesday 11/4/12 A chilly and unsettled day across the country. There will be a mix of sunny spells and showers, a few of the showers heavy at times. Highs at 8 to 16C.
