Lara Nyman took team gold at the British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) 10-mile Cycle Time-Trial (TT) Championships in Abingdon.
A silver medallist at last year's European Triathlon Championships, Nyman of Harrow completed her first national TT championship distance in sub-25 minutes, tantalisingly just 14 seconds off individual bronze.
This was the University of Birmingham's first-ever gold TT medal and both Nyman and her team-mate were the only female team to finish in a joint time of under 50 minutes.
Having received funding from British Cycling to focus exclusively on the sport only four months ago, Nyman, 19, also collected a magnum of champagne and earned 115 in prize money.
