AAA Columbus Clippers
Knights 13, Clippers 7: CF Ezequiel Carrera (.324), 1B Travis Buck (.340) and 2B Cord Phelps (.311) homered, but host Columbus lost to Charlotte in International League play. The Clippers piled up 12 hits, but the Knights posted 20.
Notes: Clippers RH Corey Kluber (8.04 ERA) allowed six runs on 11 hits and one walk in five innings. ... SS Jason Donald (.273) went 0-for-2.
AA Akron Aeros
SeaWolves 8, Aeros 5: Matt McBride (.263) singled twice and homered, but Akron lost an Eastern League game in Erie, Pa. LH Matt Packer (0-5, 5.18) took the loss for the Aeros, lasting six innings, giving up seven runs -- five earned -- on eight hits, walking one and striking out two.
Notes: Aeros LH Kelvin De La Cruz (1-3, 2.77) will start Wednesday against LH Casey Crosby (1-1, 4.94). ... The home run was McBride's team-best fifth of the season. ... De La Cruz is 1-1 with a 2.25 ERA in his career against Erie. ... INF Jared Goedert began a rehab assignment with the Aeros, going 0-for-4 with an RBI, a walk and a strikeout. ... LF Tim Fedroff (.330) went 1-for-4 with a double and one run batted in. ... Akron fell to 14-18 on the season, while Erie improved to 15-15.
