You could be star of the future

DO you dream of making a name for yourself as a writer?

Are you aged 16 to 18?

Would you like a chance to see your work in print and win �250?

The South Wales Evening Post has teamed up with the National Council for the Training of Journalists (NCTJ) to launch the Stars of the Future competition.

Entrants should write a 200-word news story about events or issues in their local community, school or college, or their family.

It must be original, unpublished work and include at least one direct quote as the result of an interview.

Closing date is May 27.

Entries must be sent to Stars of the Future, South Wales Evening Post, Adelaide Street, Swansea SA1 1QT or emailed to cathy.duncan@swwmedia. co.uk

The winner will be notified in the week commencing June 13 and the winning entry published in the Evening Post the following week.

They will go forward to the national final, the overall winner of which will be notified on Friday, July 1, receive �250 and have their entry published on www.nctj.com

The competition marks the 60th anniversary of the NCTJ, which is dedicated to providing a world-class education and training system to equip journalists in a fast-changing multimedia industry.

There are more than 70 NCTJ-accredited journalism courses around the country at a mix of universities, colleges and commercial centres.
