Glastonbury Festival organisers have announced details of the 2011 Emerging Talent Competition (ETC), which will give new artists from the UK and Ireland the chance to compete for a main stage slot at this year's event.
Entrants from any musical genre can follow in the footsteps of previous ETC competitors, who include Stornoway, Scouting For Girls, We Have Band, the Golden Silvers, Ellen and the Escapades and the Subways.
For the 2011 competition, acts will be able to enter for one week only from Monday, January 10, until Monday, January 17 via the official Glastonbury Festival website www.glastonburyfestivals .co.uk. Entries for Glastonbury Festival's ETC2011 will be free during the competition week (ETC rules and conditions apply).
Once the entries are in, a newly-recruited panel of 40 of the UK's top music bloggers will help compile a longlist of 120 acts. The longlist will then be whittled down to a shortlist of 10 artists by judges including Glastonbury organisers Michael and Emily Eavis, before a live final showcase in April decides the winning act.
