A PORT Talbot dance group flying the flag for Wales in a television talent competition has received the backing from a local famous face.
Glynneath legend Max Boyce has lent his support to hip-hop group Eruption to give them a boost before their live performance on Got to Dance on Sunday.
The group, whose members hail from Glynneath, Neath, Seven Sisters and Port Talbot, have beaten off plenty of stiff competition to be named as the only act from Wales to make it into the top 28 of Sky1's competition.
Choreographer Terry Michael, who heads Eruption, said it was great to meet Max and give him a sneak peak of their Sunday night performance.
"They were really excited to meet him," he said.
"They showed Max their new set and he was talking to them about how they need to enjoy the experience.
"He said he loved their performance and that they were amazing.
"He also said he hoped people got behind us and supported the group as they were flying the flag for Wales."
Mr Michael said the group's excitement was building about performing in front of millions of viewers and judges who include Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt, West End star Andy Garcia and Ashley Banjo, from dance group Diversity.
"It is getting really close now and the nerves are starting to kick in," he said.
"But the performance, I think, is going to be really good. I think the judges will love it.
"It is a high energy performance and it is definitely an eruption.
"I am sure everyone at home will love it.
"There are also a few brilliant surprises."
Mr Michael, who runs TDM dance school, said he was hoping the group could get the support it needs to get through to the grand final.
"We have had 19,000 hits on YouTube so far," he said.
"We feel people are starting to get behind us and we are just hoping it continues.
"Everyone is really excited, and it is quite funny as some of the kids are getting recognised. Some of them have even been asked for autographs."
Today the group set off on a promotional tour visiting seven schools including Traethmelyn primary, Sandfields comprehensive and Dwr y Felin.
"It is going to be crazy, as after it all we are going back to the studios to rehearse," he added.
The 19 dancers, aged 8 to 17, will appear on Got to Dance's first live semi-final on Sky1 on Sunday.
