Fundraiser is hearty task

IF you're fit and have a big heart, try this for a challenge.

Lifeboat charity the RNLI is inviting people to beat its Tamar class boats by running, rowing or cycling eight miles in 25 minutes or less.

There is still time to register for the RNLI SOS Day, which takes place on Friday, January 28.

The annual fundraising event has raised hundreds of thousands of pounds for the privately-funded charity, which relies on donations to keep afloat.

This time round the event in Mumbles is being sponsored by radio station The Wave, one of whose presenters, Andy Miles — aka Badger — serves as a crew member.

Fundraising continues meanwhile for a Tamar class lifeboat for Mumbles to replace the existing Tyne class vessel.
