AAA Columbus Clippers
Clippers 5, Bats 2 Jordan Brown slugged his eighth homer and Paolo Espino (2-2) pitched seven strong innings as Columbus won an International League game in Louisville, Ky. Clippers right fielder Jose Constanza hit two triples as part of a 4-for-5 night.
AA Akron Aeros
Aeros 12, SeaWolves 0 Akron busted loose for six runs in the bottom of the seventh and went on to rout Erie (Pa.) in an Eastern League game at Canal Park. Three Aeros -- Lonnie Chisenhall, John Drennen and Tim Fedroff -- clubbed home runs. Starter Alex White (8-7) held Erie to three hits in seven innings.
Advanced A Kinston Indians
Indians 9, Keys 5 Kinston (N.C.) scored five runs in the bottom of the eighth and defeated Frederick (Md.) in a Carolina League game. Bo Greenwell slugged a three-run homer, his first of the season with Kinston.1/3

Captains 4, Hot Rods 0 Lake County starter Francisco Jimenez, and relievers Preston Guilmet (4-1) and Jose Flores combined for a shutout in the Midwest League game in Bowling Green, Ky.
A Mahoning Valley Scrappers
Spikes 10, Scrappers 1 State College (Pa.) scored six runs in the top of the eighth and defeated Mahoning Valley in a New York-Penn League game in Niles, Ohio. The Scrappers committed two of their five errors in the eighth, and their pitchers walked two and hit a batter.
Independent Lake Erie Crushers
Crushers 1, Wild Things 0 Josh Roberts (9-5) matched a franchise record with 10 strikeouts, and Lake Erie won a Frontier League game in Washington, Pa.
