UK Forecast: Sunny spells & showers - Cool tonight, Aug 05 - 16:45

Monday A showery day again for most of the UK and Ireland. The areas most at risk of showers are probably through the Midlands and southern England as well as through parts of East Anglia. More heavy showers across northern England, especially the northeast. Further heavy showers in Scotland, the focus for them in more eastern parts. Western parts of England, Scotland and Wales should be mainly dry with lots of sunshine. Cloud and some periods of rain affecting central and southern Ireland. Highs at 23C in southeast England, 15C in northern Scotland.

Monday Night Cloud and some outbreaks of rain over Ireland on Monday night. A further area of cloud and rain may affect central and eastern Scotland. Drier weather across the rest of the country with some clearer skies. It will be cool under the clearer skies with lows at 5C, but nearer 10C under the cloudier skies.

Tuesday A shallow area of low pressure will be to the southwest of Ireland on Tuesday. Fronts associated with the low will push into southern Ireland and southwest England bringing cloud and periods of rain here. A trough across southern Scotland and Northern Ireland will trigger some heavy showers. Elsewhere it should be dry with sunny spells for many, although an odd shower cannot be ruled out in the east. Highs at 15C in northern Scotland, 22C in southeast England.

Wednesday High pressure will have built through the country on Wednesday. This is going to be bringing plenty of dry weather with good spells of sunshine. There will be some showers in central and eastern Scotland where a trough will be moving south. A weak occluded front affecting southern England where there will be cloud and outbreaks of rain. Highs at a very warm 26C in central England, nearer 16C in northern Scotland.
