UK Forecast: Cloudy and damp - Rain passing east, Feb 12 - 17:24

Sunday Lots of cloud to start the day across all parts of the British Isles. Although starting dry in the far southeast and area of thicker cloud and a band of rain will be edging from the west. This affects much of Scotland, England and Wales through the morning, some heavy periods of rain over high ground and coasts in the far west. Lots of mist and murk shrouding the hills here. Winds will be strong ahead of the rain band, gusting to gale force. Drier through Ireland with some brighter spells to the east. This afternoon stays damp through much of England and eastern Scotland with misty conditions too. Drier weather to the west, edging slowly east through western Scotland and Wales. A few showers for Ireland and southwest England. Highs at 5 to 10C.

Sunday Night Low pressure brings more cloud overnight and some showery outbreaks of rain across western parts of Scotland, England, Wales and the whole of Ireland. There is the threat of some bits of rain continuing to affect northeast England and eastern Scotland too. For much of the rest of England and eastern parts of Wales the night is likely to be drier, although a breeze picks up to the south. Perhaps turning quite foggy through southern Scotland. Lows at -4C in central Scotland with a frost through northern England and parts of the Midlands.

Monday Low pressure remains across Scotland through Monday. It will be bringing some cloud and outbreaks of showery rain through Scotland and Ireland, these affecting parts of northwest England and the west and north of Wales too. The rain turning to snow on the hills and this snow becoming heavy through central parts of Scotland. The threat of some rain through southeastern parts of England and showers in the southwest. Most of the Midlands and East Anglia should be drier, although even here there could be a shower. Highs at 3C in northern Scotland, 7C in southwest England.

Tuesday Low pressure is going to be to the west of Ireland bringing an area of brisk winds across much of the country. An area of rain is going to be pushing northwards through Ireland, Wales and England, the rain heavy at times. There is a risk that the rain may turn to snow on Tuesday afternoon as it reaches Northern Ireland and southern Scotland. Drier weather for much of Scotland with a few sunny spells here. Showery conditions following to southern Wales and southern Ireland in the afternoon, together with a few brighter periods. Highs at 4C in northern Scotland, 10C in southwest England.
