Lord Neuberger's legal legacy

Master of the Rolls Lord Neuberger brought Jewish Care supporters up to speed on relevant legal issues when he addressed the charity's legacy event at BDO's central London offices.

More than 80 lawyers, accountants and professional advisers heard Lord Neuberger discuss his career - and two recent high-profile cases involving wills and charities. Noting that some organisations had been unfairly critcised for protecting their interests through the courts, he told his audience: "The importance of wills is even greater when the third sector is under pressure."

Jewish Care chief executive Simon Morris reported that legacies accounted for 30 per cent of its voluntary income. "Without the support that we get from legacies, we could not do our vital work. With your continued support, Jewish Care can carry on its proud tradition of caring for the most vulnerable members of our community."
