Tim Fedroff, Jared Goedert lead attack as Clippers outlast Gwinett in 10: Minor League Report

House shines as Akron splits doubleheader; Indians draft pick Naquin is 3-for-4 in pro debut in Mahoning Valley victory.

AAA Columbus Clippers

Clippers 5, Braves 3 (10): Columbus CF Tim Fedroff (.378) went 4-for-4 and 3B Jared Goedert was 3-for-4 with two doubles to lead the Clippers to an International League win over Gwinnett on Wednesday in Lawrenceville, Ga.

Goedert's RBI single in the 10th inning put the Clippers ahead, 4-3, and Fedroff had a sacrifice fly later in the inning to make it 5-3.

DH Matt LaPorta (.314) also had three hits for Columbus.

Lefty David Huff (4.67) started for the Clippers and pitched 51/3 innings. He allowed two runs (one earned) on seven hits.

Righty Chris Ray (1-4, 1.80) earned the win with two scoreless innings.

AA Akron Aeros

Aeros 2-1, Mets 0-5: Akron lefty T.J. House (5-2, 3.12) threw a two-hit shutout in the first game of a doubleheader, but Aeros lefty Francisco Jimenez (0-1, 12.27) got shelled in the nightcap as Akron and visiting Binghamton (N.Y.) played to an Eastern League split.

A Mahoning Valley Scrappers

Scrappers 2, Jammers 1 (11): Indians first-round pick Tyler Naquin went 3-for-4 in his professional debut as Mahoning Valley beat Jamestown (N.Y.) in a New York-Penn League game in Niles, Ohio.

Independent Lake Erie Crushers

Crushers 4, Rippers 2: Lake Erie CF Adrian Ortiz (.313) had three hits and Alex Loftin (2-0, 0.82) pitched six strong innings as the Crushers won the Frontier League game in London, Ontario.

Advanced A Carolina Mudcats

The Mudcats were off Wednesday.
