Mixed conditions through the weekend and into the new week. Low pressure is likely to be bringing showers to northern and western parts of the country through the weekend, with drier weather to the east. However, into the middle of next week indications are that an area of low pressure develops and brings more unsettled weather with rain and showers.
For the weather for the next few days click here Sunday 1/7/12 Low pressure remains to the north of Scotland on Sunday. This brings further showers in Scotland, and some showers forming too in eastern England. The showers could be heavy here and there in these areas. A ridge of high pressure will be building through Ireland, bringing fair weather here and some sunny spells. Staying dry with more sunshine for Wales and the far south of England. Highs at 12 to 18C.
Monday 2/7/12 Probably staying fair to the east with a ridge of high pressure building here. To the west there will be cloud and periods of rain, some of them heavy later as fronts move in from the Atlantic. Highs will be around 14 to 22C.
Tuesday 3/7/12 Low pressure is expected to be to the west of Ireland through Tuesday with a weak ridge to the east eventually collapsing away. It is likely that the far east is going to be remaining dry with sunny spells. To the west fronts will be bringing periods of rain and these are going to become heavy at times. Highs at 16 to 21C.
Wednesday 4/7/12 Low pressure is expected to be close to western Scotland and Ireland on Wednesday with high pressure holding to the east. The low brings cloud, rain and showers through Scotland, much of northern and western England as well as Wales and Ireland. There is a chance that East Anglia and the southeast may stay dry. Highs at 16 to 21C.
Thursday 5/7/12 A trough through the country on Thursday with low pressure off northern Scotland. There will be heavy showers or longer periods of rain affecting all parts of the country. Highs will be around 15 to 22C.
Friday 6/7/12 Little change through Friday with further showers in all areas. The showers are going to be heavy and thundery at times, most in the south and east. Drier weather to the west with sunny spells developing. Highs at 14 to 20C.
