Curve 13, Aeros 5 Altoona (Pa.) lit up Akron right-handed starter Brett Brach (2-3, 3.86) and crushed the visiting Aeros in Eastern League action.
Brach allowed eight runs (four earned) on seven hits and five walks in 3 innings.
Jeremie Tice (.429) homered for Akron in his second game since being promoted from Class A Carolina, where he hit 12 homers and batted .282 in 52 games.

Mudcats 9-6, Blue Rocks 8-5 Carolina swept a doubleheader from visiting Wilmington (Del.) in Carolina League play. In the opener, Carolina scored three in the bottom of the seventh on a bases-loaded walk and a two-run error. Minor-league teams play only seven innings in doubleheaders.'

Spikes 8, Scrappers 2 State College (Pa.) scored five in the bottom of the eighth inning to win a New York-Penn League game over visiting Mahoning Valley. Scrappers starter Geoffrey Davenport (0-1) surrendered three runs, all earned, on six hits in four innings.
Independent Lake Erie Crushers
Wild Things 3, Crushers 2 Lake Erie lost a Frontier League game at Washington (Pa.). Russell Moldenhauer hit his second homer of the year for the Crushers.
