After a very unsettled weekend with low pressure dominating conditions. However, early in the new week a ridge of high pressure will be building and this is going to be bringing better conditions through most places with sunny spells. More cloud and rain returns to the west through the new week and this rain will be turning more persistent into the middle part of the week.
For the weather for the next few days click here Monday 25/6/12 A northwest flow through the whole of the UK and Ireland through Monday. There will be plenty of sunshine through most areas, although a few showers could affect more eastern parts of England and Scotland. Low pressure just west of Ireland will push fronts east bringing some cloud and rain into southern Ireland. Little change is expected through the afternoon with further spells of sunshine for most. Highs at 14 to 19C.
Tuesday 26/6/12 A slack pressure flow through the country on Tuesday. Low pressure is to the west of Ireland with fronts moving north bringing cloud and rain over Ireland, west Wales and England. More eastern and southern areas will be brighter with sunny spells and will be staying dry. Highs at a warmer 23C in southern England, 16C in northern Scotland.
Wednesday 27/6/12 A shallow area of low pressure leaching into Ireland and then northern England on Wednesday. This may bring an area of cloud and some spots of rain with it, most of it in the west and south. Brighter for the far north of Scotland with some good spells of sunshine here. Highs at 21C in southern England, 15C in northern Scotland.
Thursday 28/6/12 A deepening area of low pressure west of Ireland, with a weak ridge of high pressure to the east of the country. Fronts may bring some more cloud and rain through Ireland and the west of Wales and England. More eastern areas will be drier with some sunny spells here. Highs at 22C in southeast England, 14C in northern Scotland.
Friday 29/6/12 Low pressure is to the west of Ireland again through Friday, with thicker cloud and more persistent cloud through Ireland, western Wales and the west of Scotland. More eastern and southern areas should be drier and brighter with the best of any sunshine affecting eastern areas. Highs around 15 to 21C.
Saturday 30/6/12 Little change through Saturday. Western areas will always have most of the cloud with outbreaks of rain at times. More eastern areas will be brighter with sunny spells and it will be dry here too. Highs at 23C in the east, but 17C in the west.
