Clippers, Scrappers win: Minor League Report

3B Jared Goedert (.285), 1B Matt LaPorta (.308) and CF Ezequiel Carrera (.266) each had two hits for the Clippers.

AAA Columbus Clippers

Clippers 4, Mud Hens 1

LHP T.J. McFarland (3-1, 3.69 ERA) allowed one run, four hits and three walks in seven innings as Columbus won an International League game Monday in Toledo. 3B Jared Goedert (.285), 1B Matt LaPorta (.308) and CF Ezequiel Carrera (.266) each had two hits for the Clippers.

AA Akron Aeros

Flying Squirrels 9, Aeros 5 (11)

RHP Rob Bryson (2.68) struck out six in three innings of perfect relief for host Akron, but Nick Liles hit a two-run single in a four-run 11th inning for Richmond (Va.).

Advanced A Carolina Mudcats

Mudcats 11, Nationals 1

1B Jesus Aguilar (.312) homered twice, doubled, singled and drove in six runs, and 3B Giovanny Urshela (.271) homered, doubled, singled and drove in two as host Carolina won a Carolina League game against Potomac (Va.). SS Ronny Rodriguez (.273) also went deep for the Mudcats, and LF Bo Greenwell (.359) and DH Tony Wolters (.240) had two hits each.

A Lake County Captains

RHP Mason Radeke (5-2, 3.20) allowed four runs – three earned – in five innings as host Lake County lost a Midwest League game against Fort Wayne (Ind.). CF Luigi Rodriguez (.285) went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored for the Captains.

A Mahoning Valley Scrappers

Scrappers 12, Crosscutters 6

DH Joe Sever (.353) and 1B Evan Frazar (.226) each drove in three runs, and 3B Joseph Wendle (.400) had three hits and two RBI as Mahoning Valley won a New York-Penn League game in Williamsport, Pa. Frazar also had three of the Scrappers' 13 hits.
