CF Ezequiel Carrera (.258), 2B Cord Phelps (.264) and SS Jason Donald (.321) each drove in a run, and a run-scoring single in the eighth inning by 1B Russ Canzler (.257) lifted host Columbus over Charlotte (N.C.) in International League play Sunday. LHP David Huff (3.74 ERA) gave up four runs, eight hits and three walks in 5 1/3 innings for the Clippers. He struck out two.

3B Kyle Bellows (.250) went 4-for-5 with two doubles, four RBI and two runs scored as host Akron topped Altoona (Pa.) in Eastern League play. LHP Giovanni Soto (4.08) allowed one run, five hits and two walks in 4 1/3 innings for the Aeros. He struck out four. RHP Jose De La Torre (4-0, 2.33) earned the victory with 1 2/3 innings of scoreless relief.
