European Summary: Heavy Showers - Sunny and Summery across the Mediterranean, Jul 21 - 06:03

Very Hot Across Iberia Today Mostly sunny and mainly dry across much of the United Kingdom today and this fine weather extends down across a good portion of France, although some showers may affect eastern parts of France at times. Most of Belgium should also be dry, mostly sunny start to heavy showers affect, the Netherlands and most of Germany, Switzerland and Austria. Heavy showers are also likely across Denmark, southern Sweden and across the extreme northern part of Poland into the Baltic States and western Russia. Quite chilly but dry and sunny today across Norway and northern parts of Sweden. Expect sunshine and showers across Finland. Some rain is expected across western parts of the Ukraine with rain and showers across the Czech Republic. Across the former Yugoslavia, Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania, Greece and Turkey the weather remains sunny and hot. This hot, sunny weather also extends westward across the Mediterranean through most of Italy, Corsica, Sardinia through the Balearics and across into Spain and Portugal.

Sunday Dry with lots of sunshine to come across the United Kingdom today and this will also be the case across Belgium, Holland, Denmark and all of France. Strong mistral will again be blowing across southern France today. Some rain will spread into western parts of Norway in the afternoon, otherwise expect a dry day across Scandinavia with lots of sunshine across eastern Norway, Sweden and most of Finland. A scattering of showers are expected across the Baltic States, Poland and Austria. Some heavy showers to come across parts of Switzerland and the Alps and across northern parts of Italy were they could be thundery. Outbreaks of persistent rain are forecast for the Czech Republic, the former Yugoslavia and up across western parts of the Ukraine. Eastern parts of the Ukraine will be dry sunny and hot while a rash of heavy, thundery showers will develop across western Russia. Most of Romania looks dry with good sunny spells as will all of Greece and Turkey were will be quite hot. It's southern parts of Italy it will be fine, sunny and hot. It will be fine across the Balearics into Portugal and Spain. Apart from a few heavy showers across the Bavarian region of Germany be dry and mostly sunny.
