Arghebant steers GB to victory in EMG Futsal warm-up

Maccabi GB beat the National League side London United in their first competitive futsal match.
With five months to go before the European Maccabi Games in Vienna, MGB came from two goals down to win 6-5 in Crystal Palace.

Strikes from Sam Arghebant, Jonathan Green and Daniel Sugarman they found themselves 3-2 up before the South London based opposition - comprising mainly of Brazilian ex-pats - levelled matters just before the interval.

Encouraged by their first half performance, Arghebant secured his first futsal hat-trick thus edging GB 5-3 ahead with 10 minutes to play. The second goal was a sublimely driven chip from well inside his own half.

London United then struck back equalising with seven remaining and only two top-class saves from Danny Berliner kept GB in the game. Green settled the match with a close-range effort late on.

GB manager Johnny Cohen said: ?This exercise ticked a lot of boxes. The team played in a fantastic arena which will compare to the venue in Vienna so there was a massive sense of occasion about it.

?After a shaky start we did well to get back in the game against quality opposition and show some steely determination. We still have a long way to go to in terms of training to mould ourselves in to a good futsalling team but overall I was very pleased and was delighted with the never-say-die spirit of the team.?
