AAA Columbus Clippers
Clippers 10, Indians 6: Columbus RF Russ Canzler (.276) hit his 12th homer of the season, LF Tim Fedroff (.352) had three hits, including his third homer, and the Clippers beat visiting Indianapolis in International League play Friday.
Columbus 1B Vinny Rottino (.313) was a home run shy of hitting for the cycle.
Right-hander Corey Kluber (8-7, 3.94) pitched seven innings, allowing four runs on six hits. He struck out nine and walked one.
AA Akron Aeros
SeaWolves 6, Aeros 3: Akron lefty Giovanni Soto (5-6, 4.09) got tattooed for six runs, four earned, in 61/3 innings and the Aeros lost the Eastern League game in Erie, Pa.
Soto gave up eight hits and one walk.
Aeros 2B Matt Lawson (.309) had three hits, C Chun-Hsiu Chen (.315) hit his fourth home run of the season and 1B Adam Abraham (.245) hit his eighth homer.
A Lake County Captains
Captains 9, Whitecaps 2: The Captains hit three home runs and 3B Leonardo Castillo (.197) had four hits as Lake County won the Midwest League game in Comstock Park, Mich.
2B Jose Ramirez (.340) hit his first homer of the season, RF Jordan Smith (.301) hit his fourth and C Alex Lavisky (.248), a St. Edward product, hit his sixth.
Lake County left-hander Shawn Morimando (3-2, 3.90) went five innings to earn the win. He allowed two runs on five hits and four walks while striking out three.
A Mahoning Valley Scrappers
IronBirds 7, Scrappers 6: Mahoning Valley 1B Charlie Valerio (.313) had three hits in the Scrappers' New York-Penn League loss in Niles, Ohio.
Scrappers CF Tyler Naquin (.326), the Indians' 2012 first-round pick, went 1-for-4 and stole his second base of the season.
Independent Lake Erie Crushers
Crushers 5, Miners 2: The bottom four batters in Lake Erie's lineup had 11 of the Crushers' 14 hits as the Crushers won their seventh home game in a row, beating Southern Illinois at All Pro Stadium in Avon.
The Crushers (25-21) have won five in a row, and nine out of their last 10. Daniel Bowman, Brian Erie, J.C. Figueroa and Brandon Decker went 11-for-15 combined, reached base 12 times in 16 plate appearances and were responsible for all five of Lake Erie's runs.
